Peoria Symphony Orchestra’s Mike Block spreads the unifying power of music

Students at Quest Charter Academy got a special lesson in music. Renowned cellist and Peoria Symphony Orchestra resident artist Mike Block gave students a special performance. Along with an impromptu concert, Block shared an important message with the kids about how music bridges all cultures. “Music is going further and further into like a globalized, you know, mixture, much like the rest of the world,” Block explained. “So people can draw inspiration from any culture and any time period, really. So it’s all free game.”
