Legacy Giving

Legacy Circle Planned Gifts

Leave a legacy of music by making a planned gift through your estate to support music enrichment and education in our community for generations to come by designating either the Peoria Symphony Orchestra or Peoria Symphony Foundation in your will.

PEORIA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

The Legacy Circle recognizes donors who make a pledge to support the operations of the Peoria Symphony via an estate plan.  There is no minimum gift requirement, and gifts may be written as unrestricted or have a stated restriction such as “educational outreach.”  Unrestricted is encouraged as it is put towards the area of greatest need, which changes over time.  Restrictions should be general enough to withstand changes to programs, etc.

PEORIA SYMPHONY FOUNDATION

Pledges for any amount to the Peoria Symphony endowment via an estate plan are also recognized as part of the Legacy Circle.  Donations may be restricted or unrestricted and are recognized during the donor’s lifetime.  When the gift is realized, it is recognized in Foundation Giving reports according to the gift level and any bequest restrictions.  If the realized bequest is $10,000 or higher, then the donor is named to the Plowe Society, which recognizes major donors to the endowment in perpetuity.
