Love music? Love to run? Combine both and come out for the Peoria Symphony Orchestra’s 3rd Annual Beat Beethoven 5K!
See if you can beat Beethoven as you run or walk past stations that will be playing Beethoven’s 5th Symphony—one of the world’s most iconic and recognizable orchestral works. Youth ages 10 and under can run to see if they can beat Beethoven himself!
Course
The course starts at the Peoria Symphony Orchestra office (located in the WTVP Building) at 101 State Street in Peoria, Illinois. The race will take you along the Peoria Riverfront to the Gateway Building, Constitution Garden, and back.

$30 Early Bird, $35 after September 20, 2019 • 5K Run
$30 Early Bird, $35 after September 20, 2019 • 2-Mile Walk
$10 • 1/4-Mile Youth Run (ages 10 & under)
Participants are guaranteed a t-shirt up until September 20, 2019.
Awards
Overall first place male and female winners will receive a trophy.
The top two finishers in each division will receive a medal.
Age categories: 12 & under, 13-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, and 65 & over.
Race timing is by ShaZam Racing.
The Beat Beethoven 5K Run, 2-Mile Walk, and 1/4-Mile Youth Run benefits the Peoria Symphony Orchestra and its mission to entertain, educate, and inspire through music. The Peoria Symphony provides music education programs throughout Central Illinois. Music programs including Resident Artist Week (RAW) reach preschoolers and senior citizens alike, as the guest artist visits schools and living centers in the greater Tri-County area.
