Don’t miss our seventh concert of the season, Voyage, featuring guest conductor Louis Lohraseb and vocalist Erica Petrocelli, soprano. Come on a journey with the PSO as we encounter pieces by Wolfgang Mozart, Richard Strauss, and Pyotr Tchaikovsky.
The Voyage Concert will take place on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 7:30 pm at the Peoria Civic Center Theater.
Since his professional debut at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma in 2019, Louis Lohraseb has quickly established himself as an exciting new conductor on the international stage, with subsequent debuts at the Semperoper Dresden, Los Angeles Opera, and Komische Oper Berlin. Following his mainstage debut conducting Tosca at Los Angeles Opera, Mr. Lohraseb was immediately re-engaged for Il Barbiere di Siviglia and La Traviata. Elsewhere in 2023-24, he debuts at Staatsoper Hamburg (Le Nozze di Figaro) and Atlanta Opera (A Midsummer Night’s Dream); and with the Peoria Symphony. Recent seasons have included Semperoper Dresden (Carmen); Komische Oper Berlin (La Traviata); Opera Sarasota (Thérèse); La Rondine and Don Giovanni at Indiana University Opera Theatre; and gala concerts with Yale Opera and Summer Opera Tel Aviv.
American soprano Erica Petrocelli, whom Broadway World exclaimed that “Her voice can richly convey all the emotions, while masterfully integrating all those coloratura tricks and making them seem easy and natural. She is amazing-the most remarkable voice of the evening!” recently graduated from both young artist programs of Opernhaus Zürich and LA Opera. In the 2023-2024 season, Ms. Petrocelli returns to LA Opera as Donna Clara, the Infanta in Zemlinsky’s Der Zwerg, conducted by James Conlon. Concert appearances include Strauss’ Vier letzte Lieder with the Peoria Symphony, Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 with the Florida Orchestra, and concerts of Puccini favorites with the Sarasota Opera.
