Peoria Symphony Foundation
The Peoria Symphony Foundation is a non-profit corporation, established for the purpose of accepting, holding, administering, investing, and disbursing funds, at the discretion of its Board of Directors, for the benefit of the Peoria Symphony Orchestra. The Foundation manages the Symphony’s endowment for the long-term sustainability of the Orchestra.
The Foundation and the Orchestra are separate entities, each with a separate 501c3 status and Board of Directors.
Sustaining Support
The Peoria Symphony Foundation maintains and manages an endowment fund to support the Peoria Symphony Orchestra over the long term.
The PSO receives annual operating support from the endowment’s earnings. This is an important source of support for the Peoria Symphony Orchestra presently, and we expect it to play an increasingly significant role to ensure the financial sustainability of the PSO well into the future.
Learn more about programs to support the Foundation:
The Peoria Symphony Foundation was established in 1982 by a group of forward-thinking music lovers who wanted to provide for the future of the Symphony, realizing that earned revenues through ticket sales could not sustain the total costs of presenting live orchestra concerts. It is a separate 501(c)3 organization that is governed by its own Board of Directors. Annually the Foundation is able to supplement the resources of the Symphony by contributing a predetermined percentage of the earnings from the Foundation’s investments to the operating needs of the orchestra.
Contributions to the Foundation come from individuals, memorial gifts, and estate gifts, and the capital is held in the corpus of the Foundation and is invested to generate funds for Symphony operations.
Your love for music can be carried far into the future with an estate gift to the Peoria Symphony Foundation. Contact the Symphony office or any member of the Foundation Board of Directors to find out how.
