Annual Student Concert
The Guild presents the annual Student Concert for thousands of school children and their teachers in central Illinois, a tradition since 1958.
This season’s concert will take place on Friday, April 11, 2025 with performances at 10:00 AM and 11:45 AM.
About
Up to 4,400 public school students from around the region experience one of two free one-hour live performances from the PSO at the Peoria Civic Center. The concert features the guest artists and a solo performance from the winner of the Annual Young Artist Competition.
The Peoria Symphony Guild invites your classroom to participate in a very engaging performance by the Peoria Symphony Orchestra, Inspired Journeys, specifically geared for students, on Friday, April 11, 2025, at 10:00 or 11:45 a.m.
For 71 years, central Illinois school children from the third to twelfth grades have taken a field trip to the Guild-sponsored Annual Student Concert to experience a one-hour performance of the Peoria Symphony Orchestra. For some participants, this field trip supplements a rich music curriculum; for others, it is a rare exposure to classical music.
During the 71st Annual Student Concert, students will hear music selections Beethoven’s 6th Symphony and William Harvey’s Seven Decisions of Gandhi. This concert also features the winner of the Symphony Guild’s Young Artists Competition performing their concerto with the Peoria Symphony Orchestra! PSO Music Director George Stelluto is always very creative in his approach to the Student Concerts.
We look forward to your attendance at this wonderful annual event!
